What's in My Makeup Bag?
I am really enjoying wearing less makeup at the moment and I haven't been spending much money on makeup (student issues) so everything in my makeup bag is pretty much from the drugstore but it does me just fine!
I always start by washing and cleansing my skin, using Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion. I never use moisturiser anymore because the oiliness tends to give me spots.
The Nars Sheer Glow Foundation will always be my favourite, but the No7 Instant Radiance is my favourite drugstore foundation because it's super light and boosting, like a sunshine glow.
Sometimes I use a simple BB Cream from No7 but very rarely.
I couldn't find my usual concealer (I can't remember what it's called) but I picked up this Max Factor Colour Corrector instead which I just apply to my under eyes to fix those dark circles from binge watching 'You' all night.
Now I love the dewy look, but my skin is super oily, so I need to apply powder - I use a simple Rimmel Stay Matte Powder.
Tweezers and eyelash curlers are a staple, I'm sure they're from Superdrug or something. I SWEAR by eyelash curlers so if you don't use them, start now!
Setting spray has been a happy addition to my makeup bag, and it really does work I promise. I use Max Factor Lasting Performance Setting Spray because it's cheap and easy to find in any shop.
For wing eyeliner (which I suck at) I use a really cheap Collection Extreme Felt Tip Liner just to get the job done. I use Rimmel Volume Flash Mascara, but I really don't rate it at all - it's far too liquidy for me but I'll use it to the end regardless.
For my brows I use the Revolution Eye Pencil in Medium. Previously I used the Sleek pencil, but I found that both products work exactly the same so why not use the cheaper option? I simply outline my brow shape with this product and fill them in using a Naked Urban Decay shade of 'Naked'.
I am the WORST at remembering to clean my makeup brushes (that should have been my New Year's resolution).
I use the Real Techniques Instapop Cheek Brush for my foundation and base makeup and a cheap (like £2 cheap) Superdrug Rose Gold XO brush for my contour. For blusher and highlighter, I use brushes from SBC, but I should probably get some new ones because these are olddddd. Finally, just a simple Studio brow brush.
My most beloved piece of makeup is the Sleek Face Form Contouring & Blush Palette which only costs £10 and is three in one, it lasts forever too! They're the perfect shades for my skin. In love.
I'm late to join the Morphe bandwagon but it's beautiful. I have the 25C Hey Girl Hey Eyeshadow Palette: the colours are divine, and I wear pink and brown (and sparkles) the most often so it's the perfect palette for me. Autumnal colours!
P.s. I apologise for the dusty palette.
I hope you've enjoyed this little insight. Love always, Emmanuelle.
