Nasty gal has up to 70% off at the moment so I bought a couple of pieces and wondered how I could include them in a blog post so I'm doing a monthly favourites of all the things I've bought recently and love! I am very much feeling pretty summer dresses, skin-care and natural makeup to soak up the sunshine in. I should also note that these are all budget items because I am SKINT upon returning to Suffolk without a student loan.
Garnier Soothing Cleansing Milk - I always used to use baby wipes or makeup wipes to remove my makeup and to be fair, it didn't really effect my skin but I always had excess mascara or foundation on my skin. So I tried micellar water but it felt a bit chemical-y and I wanted a cream to sooth my skin and I found this - a lot of my products are rose scented and it's super smooth and delicate on my face! By the way - it's only £3.50 and vegan, bargain!
Facial Cleansing Brush and Exfoliator from Primark - I'd recently seen loads of influencers using exfoliators when washing their face and they looked super expensive so I didn't really take much notice but I found this from Primark for £2.50 and it is REVOLUTIONARY. I wash my face with a Simple foam face wash and apply it with the hard exfoliator to really cleanse my blackheads. Honestly, my face is so much smoother, clearer and shiny! I do the same when applying cleanser and then I use rose toning spritz which I've mentioned in previous blog posts. Cannot recommend this product enough, you don't need to have an expensive product to get the results.
(Before / After)
My skin is pretty clear overall, besides the odd spot or during that time of the month so I've been using BB cream instead of foundation. I stick with concealer, highlighter, blush and brow filler to create with a minimal makeup look. I absolutely love wearing a full face of makeup and dressing up but I cannot be bothered to do it every day so this is perfect if I'm seeing friends but don't want the full shebang you know? When I have the time I'm also letting my hair dry naturally (it takes hours) because it dries curlier.
Polka Dot Satin Skirt from Nasty Gal - half price at £15 and it is SO comfy and pretty. When I first tried it on I didn't particularly like it because it was a hassle to get on, I had to put it on over my head because it wouldn't fit past my bum, and I was getting ready for a night out and I wasn't feeling it for that vibe. However, I tried it on again the next day (I put it on over my head) and fell in love, I don't want to take it off. It's probably meant to be a little shorter but I've got short legs so it's more of a maxi skirt on me. I'm not sure if you've noticed but there's a slit down the middle which is fab for summer!
Books - I tend to read more in summer, probably because I'm sunbathing on holiday but I absolutely love to read. I always indulge in shitty romance novels and The Works had 3 books on offer for £5 which is an absolute bargain - I'm definitely going to return for more now. I haven't actually read these yet as I need to finish another but I'll let you know if they're any good.
Nasty Gal Floral / Polka Midi Dress - I am 100% down for clashing patterns and I love green!! The only issue is the wrap tie, I'm not sure if it's because my boobs are too small or what, but I have no idea how you're supposed to tie this kind of dress up without falling out of it so I've opted for a little crop top to go underneath which I think does take away the beauty of the dress a tiny bit, but I was too in love to send it back. I love that I'll be able to dress it down with trainers or wear it for on a nicer occasion.
PJ bottoms from H&M - these were only £3.99 and I've been looking for a little pair of shorts instead of my winter Christmas pjs and these are super comfy and cute in baby blue.
