Christmas bucket list

It's a short and sweet blog post today - all the festive activities I want to do! I'll highlight in pink the ones I have managed to achieve, and hopefully tick them all off at some point in the next week so stay tuned for updates...

Drive to see the Christmas lights - this is one of my favourite Christmas traditions. This year, I got dressed in my pjs (Max's actually), bought Luna with us, and ate festive treats while he drove me around the villages.

Snape Maltings - I'm planning on going this Saturday.

Christmas movie marathon - this is a l w a y s on the list, for obvious reasons! There is nothing better than getting cosy under a blanket with yummy foods and having nothing to do but chill whilst it's cold outside.

Wrap presents - I love to have a whole evening of wrapping my presents in pretty ribbons. I've done pretty well this year if I do say so myself. Set up your loving room floor as your own elf's wrapping station. My wrapping paper is from M&S and the rest is mostly from The Works.

Go to a Christmas market - this year I've only managed to make it to the Bury Christmas market, which was super cute though. I bought a few things for gifts, rode a Ferris wheel (whilst screaming) and caught up with two of my oldest friends. I forgot to buy churros and pic and mix though so I was devastated :( I really miss Newcastle at Christmas time - walking through all the lights, past Fenwick's which always had queues of people outside to view the magical window display. The little market had the most delicious snacks which would tempt me every time I walked through.

Make something homemade - for years, I've wanted to bake something amazingly decorated or make something creative as a gift but I've never pursued it.

Make a wreath

Partake in secret Santa - I'm in 3!

Take your children / nephew / nieces to Santa's grotto

Bake festive treats - gingerbread men, mince pies or reindeer cupcakes, Pinterest have some great recipes.

Volunteer in a soup kitchen or something similar

Buy a thoughtful gift - I'm pretty impressed with my present list this year, particularly for my nieces and nephews (I'll share with you in the New Year). Notonthehighstreet is THE best for thoughtful and unique gifts.

Decorate your home - I am going to be so extra when I have my own home!! But for now mum has decorated the house as festive as she can, she insists on pastel decorations to go with her colour scheme even though I don't think it's very traditional.

Decorate the tree - another one of my favourite traditions is decorating my grandparents tree. We've done it every year for as long as I can remember and it instantly gets me in the festive spirit.

Have a festive picnic in the living room - there is so much party food in the shops right now like pigs in blankets, mozzarella sticks, camembert etc and I am ready for it.

Sit by the fire - we don't have a fireplace sadly, but my grandparents do so I hope Peter (my grandpa) lights it on Christmas Day so I can cuddle my little pup by it.

Buy a new pair of Christmas pjs - they're always on my wish list.

Go iceskating

Go for a winter walk in the frost - I'm not a fan of the snow but I do love a white frost when the sun is shining.

Decorate the tree - another one of my favourite traditions is decorating my grandparents tree. We've done it every year for as long as I can remember and it instantly gets me in the festive spirit.

Buy something sparkly - whether it's a dress, shoes or accessory.

Make a festive centrepiece

How many have you completed?

Emmanuelle.
